Overview

WhatsApp Chat Button ("the App") is a Shopify app that adds a customizable WhatsApp chat button to a merchant's online store. This policy explains what information the App accesses and how it is used.

Information We Collect

From merchants (store owners):
The App requires access to basic store and theme configuration data in order to install and display the chat button (via Shopify's standard app installation and theme app extension permissions). We do not access, store, or process customer orders, customer profiles, or payment information.

From customers (store visitors):
The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data belonging to a store's customers. When a customer clicks the WhatsApp button, their browser is redirected directly to WhatsApp (via a wa.me link) using the merchant's configured phone number and message. This interaction happens entirely between the customer's device and WhatsApp — the App itself does not intercept, log, or store any part of that conversation, the customer's identity, or their WhatsApp number.

Data Storage

The App does not maintain a database of customer personal information. Any configuration settings (such as the merchant's WhatsApp number, button color, and position) are stored only as part of the store's theme settings, which are controlled entirely by the merchant through the Shopify theme editor.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. We do not use any analytics or tracking services within the App.

Compliance Webhooks

In compliance with Shopify's requirements, the App responds to the following mandatory webhooks:

• customers/data_request
• customers/redact
• shop/redact

Because the App does not store customer personal data, these requests are acknowledged with no further action required.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
